16 months
Camdon, you turned 16 months old this past Sunday!
You are such a little clown. You have been calling daddy "mommy" recently...even though we KNOW you can (and have) said daddy. You also use the word, "mama" for "pick me up!" but it's so fun when we ask you to say daddy and you look with a gleam in your eye and say, "MAMA".
You have decided that you LOVE 'melmo'. You have some of his books, but I will admit that we also showed you that he is on t.v. (you use 'melmo' to refer to all Sesame Street characters, although you do like Elmo the best). You jump around, yell 'melmo!!' and dance to both the t.v. songs you've seen and the stuffed Elmo who sings in the playroom.
You love to "build" things, and if daddy gets out tools, you are totally there. You are very resourceful and interested in how things work. Last week you were "helping" to clean out the dishwasher (which you love to do), and couldn't reach the top shelf so you just pulled out the bottom shelf, laid it aside, and climbed inside to pull out the top shelf from below. It's not unusual to find you stacking things in order to get higher at something you want...daddy even found you using your teeth to "grip" something that you couldn't get enough leverage on with just your hands!
You love books, music, and baby dolls...you walk them around the house patting and hugging them, or you push them in the stroller. You also feed them from time to time. You're going to be a good daddy one day!
You are still a great eater, but you have learned (and use) the word "yuck!" You also say "hot" to refer to anything you aren't supposed to touch--which includes food you don't want to eat. Something 'yuck' turns into 'yum' pretty quickly with you, though, and you eat more than your sister on a regular basis.
You enjoy going out in public, and love the special penny horse at the store. You sit on it with your sister and kiss it the entire ride. In between animal noises of course. You currently love to make the horse, monkey, donkey, and elephant (spitting)...in addition to your usual cat, dog, duck, etc. You've recently learned to "gobble gobble gobble" for the turkey. You still love to find the "cat" in books or in the house, but you've started saying a mix of "cat" and "kitty", which sounds like "Cat-ee!"
Your words are "cookie, num-num, cup, shoe, socks, ball, mo (more), bye, no, yesh (yes), B.B. (baby), sishy (sissy), pop-pop, gigi (sounds like cookie), mama, and kank koo (thank you)..adding to the words you already know :). You are always willing to try new words!
You communicate constantly, and still love cuddles, kisses, wrestling, coloring (on books...on the walls...on the floor...)
You are the 16 month old delight of my heart :)
