The 4th year of you :)
When I was young, I never understood the phrase, "your life flashing before your eyes." I mean, I understood it in theory, but as I've gotten older, the concept has taken on real meaning for me. Like yesterday. My baby girl turned 4. And looking at her makes the past four years flash before my eyes. Being at the hospital...becoming a mama....bringing her home and worrying over every noise and strange poop...watching her personality start to blossom and rejoicing over every new word and trick she could do....It is such a mysterious gift to watch a person's life from the beginning. And, like every mom I know, I think....it goes too fast. :) Every phase is filled with joy over how she's changing and what she's learning, and sadness at what's being left behind. The delicate dance of a mama's heart :)
Brynne, Michaela, you are FOUR years old!
You weigh about 32 pounds, and are about 39 1/2 inches tall! You love to read, play princesses, dance, tea party, and any kind of art. You sit and color ALL the time. You go through page after page of coloring books. I can't keep up! :) Your grammy told me that to be "kindergarten ready", you have to be able to draw up to 6 parts on a person....and we counted 12 parts on yours. You are a great artist!
You are also a great big sister. Just the tone of your voice when you talk to Camdon makes him smile and get excited. It's one of my favorite things to see his face when you first come down in the morning. He loves you, and you take good care of him.
You are a good eater....one of your favorite lunches is peanut butter and jelly. You still like vegetables and any kind of fruit....you have a sweet tooth though (which you got honestly from both mommy AND daddy).
You are learning to ride a bike! This has been a challenge because of the "unsteady" feeling (which you do NOT like) but have pushed through it and now, with training wheels, you can ride! You just got a pair of rollerskates for your birthday which you've been in constantly--on the carpet--and your balance is very good. We'll have to go to the roller rink!
The movies you like most are anything princess, Tinkerbell, you still like Veggie Tales and Berenstain Bears...you love Word World and Sid the Science Kid too :)
The books you like best....well, you just love books. This week one of your favorites is, "There is a Nightmare in My Closet" by Mercer Mayer.
You just learned to pump on the swings by yourself a couple of weeks ago!
You like to swim when it's hot. This is the first summer that you want to go in the pool with just swimmies or a donut and no one holding you. In our neighbor's pool this past weekend, you discovered that you love jumping in for us to catch you, AND you put your head underwater purposely 3 times!! This is HUGE for you, and something you really hated before now. You're turning into a fish!
Mommy is so proud of your kindness, your spunk, and your sensitivity. You often reflect on concepts and thoughts that are way beyond your 4 years. You are just one of my absolute favorite people in the entire wide world, and being your mama is the best job I've ever had :) We love you so much!
